Good Luck Chuck in Theaters

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Good Luck Chuck” finally hit theaters today, and I think it looks hilarious, probably won’t be the greatest movie in the world but will be a damn good one. Reason being is because you have the beautiful Jessica Alba in it trying to get the hilarious man Dane Cook in bed. Just that, which is basically the whole plot just seems like it will be very funny too see Dane try to avoid sleeping with her because he loves her.

Even though I think I will like it, and probably will, and so will you…maybe, but I guess a lot of people do not think it is a great movie at all. Over at Yahoo! Movies critics gave it a D, but that is critics and I normally do not listen to them very often because I like movies critics hate, but then the user base gave it a C, still not great, I guess to them it’s worth waiting to rent it or NetFlix it. And people over at RottenTomatoes gave it 3% fresh which is just horrible.

With all those bad reviews, not just the critics, but the general public even saying it is not that great I am thinking I will wait for this one to hit NetFlix, but I may end up at a theater seeing it for myself because I think Dane Cook is a BAMF (Dane Cook joke, go watch his tour videos).

Anyways you may think it will be okay, or horrible, and for those who would like to at least see the trailer before they judge it, well then check it out.

Mr. Woodcock Trailer

Monday, September 10th, 2007

I’m sure you have seen the trailer on TV by now, well that is if you watch any comedy central or any TV at all and well theres a little movie coming out soon, September 14th, and it is called “Mr Woodcock”. Just from the title is is going to conrain some crude comedy but you can expect that a movie with Billy Bob Thornton, from “Bad Santa”, and Seann William Scott, Stifler from the American Pie movies. And with hose two guys this is going to be hilarious, your going to have Billy Bob being a hard ass and being “serious” and then Sean and his craziness… There is not much else to say about this since to me it seems like it will be hilarious and will do okay in the Box Office, I’m hoping it will doing well in it but not sure.

The reason why I think this will be good is because the plot is Sean’s gym teacher from high school, who humiliated and beat him in class, is going to marry his mom. It may not seem like much but if you know the two actors you may think its funnier, also it seems funnier if you watch the trailer. So no further ado the trailer via YouTube.

Indiana Jones New Title

Sunday, September 9th, 2007

Well I was just watching part of the MTV VMA award show, still going on, but Shia Labeouf came out on stage and told us the official name of the next Indiana Jones film. And he said it will be called “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, not sure if it really is or not, it could be since this was one of the rumor names it might be and the fact that he is in the film and the VMAs is a great place to tell the world since it is a huge live event. I think it is a pretty cool name, most likely have some type of curse in the movie most likely, not sure since I have not seen the movie but it is just my guess., or it could be something totally opposite who knows. But I do know this movie is going to be very good and do very well when it is released.

So if any of you out there have a source that says it is then cool if not leave a comment with the real name and the source.

Balls of Fury In Theaters

Saturday, September 1st, 2007

On August 29th “Balls of Fury” released into theaters, and well I forgot all about it. It is mainly because I just do not think it will be a great movie. It seems like it will be funny but to me it just looks really stupid. It also looks like I’m not the only who thinks that this movie is not very great. Over at Rotten Tomatoes it is 26% fresh (that means it is rotten, bad movie, especially at that low of a percentage) right now, that is not very good at all. Over at Yahoo Movies it got a C+ from the users and C- from the critics, critics mostly do give bad ratings to comedy movies and movies in general but for this movie the critic and user base gave it basically the same ratings, average, nothing spectacular.

So I am for sure going to wait for this to hit DVD and get it in NetFlix, because personally I do not think this movie is worth the money and do not expect it to do well in the box office, I bet “SuperBad” to beet it even though it has been out for three weeks and maybe even “The Bourne Ultimatum” to do better and that movie has been out for 4 weeks.

And for those who have seen the movie, how was it?

And here is a trailer just to watch and see if you feel the same.

Blades of Glory On DVD

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

Well today Will Ferrell and Jon Heder’s comedy movie “Blades of Glory was released on DVD, HD DVD :) , and Blu-ray. Well I am pretty sure it is released on all those formats since I found them all for sale on the Amazon and well that is pretty cool so you the “valued” consumer gets to choose and not the corporations. *Edit* After looking it over again I found out the only HD format this will be on is HD DVD :) , so I guess the corporations do get to decide what movies we watch in HD :( Reason why it is only HD DVD is because Paramount Pictures is one of the production companies behind the movie and they just recently switch from Blu-ray to HD DVD exclusively. That is why it confused me when I found on some sites they said “Blades of Glory” to be on Blu-ray, that info was released before Paramount switched. *Edit*
So go out and buy it/rent it, or even better NetFlix it, that is what I did and I never saw it in theaters so I was really happy when I saw it in the mail today. So I of course popped it in the DVD player and watched it, and it was pretty good, not great but still worth a watch and a rent for all those that have not seen it yet. I will also get a review up soon, and I still have to do one on “Shooter”, I guess I forgot about that one when my old server shut down and had to switch to this new, better one.

Superbad Wins Again!

Monday, August 27th, 2007

Well the weekend is over and the official numbers are in and who is number one this weekend? It is “Superbad” for the second weekend in a row with $18M box office sales this weekend and a total of $68.6M overall so far. That is pretty good for any movie on their second movie and very good for a comedy. Even though it has made quite a bit of money non of it is mine, that is really weird, but for some reason I have not found time to get to the theater even though I have some gift certificates, so basically it is free to me. I still got some time before it leaves the theater and heads to DVD. I really hope I do get some time and head over and go see this since it looks hilarious.

Anyways second in this weekend is “The Bourne Ultimatum” with $12.5M, that is really good for being out for four weeks now and puts total gross to $185.3M. This movie should also get over $200M, well I sure hope it does. And third this weekend is “Rush Hour 3” with $11.8M and a total of $108.5M. Both of these moves are doing very well for being the third installment in each of their series.

And for the ones that have seen “Superbad” how was it?

Another Bourne in the Works?

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

My guess no, the three Bournes have been good and when a sequel comes out there is always talks of another one that might come out in the future and I do not think they would want to risk it and end it on a bad note. But according to StarPulse Damon said if the director of the movies calls him up in several years he would be in it ASAP.

I would love to see another Bourne since those movies are just great movies; they have great action along with some comedic relief. It is not direct comedy, and even the actors do not laugh, what I am talking about is what Bourne goes into the chiefs office and call him from his office phone and Jason asks where he’s at and the chief says, I’m in my office. Bourne then returns saying, well if you were we would be having this conversation face to face. That right there to me is just hilarious and I would think so to others. Then there is the action, and I do not think I have to get into that at all with these movies since it is everywhere in them.

Herold & Kumar 2!

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

Note: Well I had this post written out before my server crashed and moved to a better server and well it was not in my backup so here it is, I’ll try to remember and write what I had before but if it isn’t the same well then maybe this version will be better. :)

Why YES!!! It is true there is going to be another Harold & Kumar movie, but it is still in the early stages since the trailer I saw does not have much in it yet and says 2008, so that means a long time I guess but just the little I saw it looked amazing! If anyone saw “Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle” then you know how funny this one is going to be just by remembering that movie, also if you did see it you would kind of guess there would be a second one since at the end Harold & Kumar said they should go after that girl in Amsterdam, plus they knew what was legal over there so they decided to go. It has been awhile, but it will come, it will be here soon enough. So no further a do here is the trailer I found over at YouTube.

Michael Bay’s Rant

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

Most of you may know about the format “war” with HD DVD and Blu-ray and you know my standing on the matter, and it still has not changed, not yet at least. And as you know Michael Bay’s new hit movie “Transformers” is still in theaters and it was awesome, but it will eventually be going to DVD. But for those that did not know “Transformers” was produced by Paramount Pictures, and originally they were Sony’s Blu-ray supporters and only distributed Blu-ray movies along with DVD of course. But recent news Paramount dropped Blu-ray and now only supports DVD and HD DVD, good news for those HD DVD player owners, and whatever news for those that still are holding onto DVD. Personally I am getting tired of this war, one side gets some great movies I’d love to watch in HD, then the other format gets another great movie I’d like to see in HD, all I can do is wither just get DVD version or get a dual HD DVD/Blu-ray player, which cost several hundred dollars too. Well there is another choice, I could wait till it is on a HD channel and DVR it but then I’d have to wait. :)

Well since the news of the Paramount changing sides Bay got a little mad and decided to post it on his blog about it one late night after talking to his Blu-ray player owning friends and got mad all about it and even said he would not direct “Transformers 2” since Paramount left Blu-ray. Which to me sucks since I love his movies, even though most hate him because they think he is a raciest (curse word here) along with other things. But to me it doesn’t matter, he makes great movies and that is all that matters, and I respect him as a director, and for his personal life that is hi personal life.

Well after a day and a sleep and some kool aid he had a change of mind and was happy with Paramount’s decision. Why did he change his mind, who know it could have been some money, the kool aid, :) some sleep and thinking, the smart business move since HD DVD players prices are getting very cheap and more may get them the time when this movie is released on DVD, or it could have just been because he watched 300 on HD DVD and saw the great quality HD DVD can be. And also he said he will be glad to direct “Transformers 2″, yes!

I hope next time he will think twice before he reacts and maybe he will not fall into advertising and fall into what people say is the best, because sometimes it just is not. And the only thing Blu-ray has is that it can hold way more storage, to me that is not innovative.

Overall very, very good news to me and for all that love Bay’s great action movies.
